Kinect
Kinect is a range camera from Microsoft, originally developed for the Xbox 360. It combines a PrimeSense-range sensor, 3D-microphone and a color camera.
Declaration of components:
- PrimeSense-range sensor is a infrared sensor, it will be used for range measurement.
- 3D-microphone: An array of four microphones is used to detect the source of sound.
- Color camera: The camera can detect the different colors.
Output device
For output we use a projector with a resolution of 1024 * 768 pixels. The picture is screened onto a wooden panel.
Real world objects
With the help of the Kinect, we recognize wooden blocks with the overall dimension of 54mm * 54mm * 54mm.
Booth
We used a former construction for our game, which includes a sandbox(game) on a table. The projector and Kinect are attached to the sandbox.
Engine & Frameworks
We use Unity 5, which is a powerful and easy-to-use game engine, in combination with the ZigFu-Kinect plug-in, which helps us with the recognition of the blocks.
